The MEES has been designed to prevent landlords for renting spaces that are classified as ‘Sub-Standard’. A Sub-Standard building or unit is defined as having an EPC rating of an F or G. *note this classification is set to be increased to an E in the not too distant future, so landlords should be aiming for at least a ‘D’.
